Long shot here:
Anybody been to Kelly Cannoli on Lake City Way? Read good things about them, but before I make the long drive over was looking for an opinion form someone who tried them or perhaps some other options in the Seattle metro area.
Love a good cannoli, don't love a mass produced boxed/ frozen one, haven't had a good one in years...
Anybody ?

Not worth it when I was there 3 years ago. I lived 1/2 mile away and only visited once....

Thanks
It's a ways to go, but I'm willing to go if they're great...not willing for average though.

'Leave the gun, take the Cannoli'

A great Connoli is a thing of beauty
😀

Agreed. My wife is 3rd Gen Italian American via central valley California. There are some great Italian delis and bakeries she grew up with. I've had a bunch there, some in Boston and some while in Italy a couple years ago. What an amazing dessert/snack.

These ain't it though. Taste was ok but the pastry was soft and crumbly and the filling had a grit to it that was unpleasant.

When I lived on the east coast, we'd get them as a special treat when we went to the Italian deli. That was in the late 60's early 70's. I was just a young kid, but still remember them.
Last ones I had were in Italy, that's been 14 years though.

These are the shit...
No doubt about it, very good.

Meh. There was a place in bell town that was cannoli centric, it to fell short.

They aren’t too hard to make, and are worth the effort. The ricotta is key. You can get Mt Etna ricotta fresca ordered for you from a specialty Italian stores. Di Laurenti in Seattle has a source. And frying the shells is pretty straight forward with cannoli tubes. Give it a shot.

I served cannoli at my wedding. The best cannoli in the world after a lifelong search is Pasticceria Savia in Catania, Sicily.
