NFR 500 Year Old Tree Falls

Non-fishing related
So, your social security number is only one number different than the national stock number for dirt ??

Wonder if they hired the local tree poachers to bring it down since it landed on someone else’s property? That take some STIHL…..

Long ago I watched a hawk land on the branch of a Bristlecone Pine tree in the Eastern Sierras. That tree was (literally) likely about as old as the pyramids of Egypt. As I sat on my tailgate drinking a beer...Me and the hawk and the tree had a moment.
I've had that happen hunting a few times, had a legal animal in the scope & put the rifle down and walked away

The Bristlecone is not only the oldest tree on earth, it is the oldest living thing on earth. That's saying something in my book. A four wheel drive vehicle can show you these trees. IMHO it's worth the effort.

Agree with all the sentiments - from reading what little information there was on this, it does seem pretty senseless. Hope the landowner had a good reason, not a just a "because I can" reason.

cheers
