I fished hard on Saturday. Floated Marblemount to Rockport. It was a great float. River was about 6700 cfs so scootin right along. I fished some classic runs, but also some inside corners and a couple goofy edges and slots.
No steelies for me and didn't see any on or landed. Nice guy at the take out had caught a 7 lb native on gear. He mentioned all the fish he has caught this year were all of the smaller variety in the 6-8 lb range. All natives. The only steelie I saw was about that size. In fact, I fished right over him and then discovered him at rod's length.
Got "bullied" by a nice 3 lb bull. Caught a couple others.

I hadn't fished it for 4 years. I was surprised how much of the shoreline has changed in a few spots, especially the south side of the river. Big trees down in several sections. Not sure when the high water came through, but it looked fairly recent.

It was WAY too hot for April steelheading, but glad I went. I know we are supposed to have a season next year, but every time I go now I just assume it could be the last.
