Just cuz I like sharing our thoughts and where we're at:
I feel like we've settled in finally. The break-in period is over and we're cruising along naturally at this point. Despite being in kind of that late winter shoulder fishing season for most of us, the discussions have been great, and the NFR topics have definitely kept things fun. I truly think the off-topic discussions are what keep this type of community going. So the more, the better!
Feedback for some of the decisions we've made has been overwhelmingly positive. We've of course had a few who took issue with how we're choosing to do things, but that's always going to be the case. I truly believe that in anything you do, trying to please 100% of everyone is the most sure path to mediocrity. And we're certainly not going to compromise our vision to please a very small minority. If you were one such person and were put off by my responses, then just know that I'm not going to make an effort to please everyone, and if you go out of your way to tell us you don't like what we're doing, we'll just tell you to find somewhere that suits you better. If you'd like to have a private conversation to better understand our decisions, we are always open to that.
But really, we're still blown away by everyone's support and efforts to make this happen. We truly think that putting site support in the hands of the community vs the usual ad sales and data marketplace, everyone will take greater pride in what happens here and help make it a great place. We're not getting rich doing this... we're not even making enough to really get paid after the bills are paid. But as long as it's fun, it's worthwhile for us.
Thank you! I'm sure @Josh and @Billy will have something to add too.
