Being in the cheapskate division of old, lazy, fly tiers, I "try" to reattach marabou tails. This could be for those flies with few strands remaining. Or, it could be that for some zen type feeling I feel the need to remove a "now" non-desirable color in favor of a mystical new concoction that...
Looking to upgrade to a high powered flashlight. Research = prices, lumens, etc. are all over the place not to mention mostly bad to very bad testimonials. Love to hear your thoughts.
For a few of us who are Wrestling fans on this Forum, the NCAA Championships have been all "Penn State"! They wrapped up the title last night and are looking to make history by surpassing the all-time total points set by Iowa in 1997 with 170 points. With six out of a possible 10 kids in the...
Can't seem to find anything close to Snotel as far as a daily show of snowpack percentage by drainage area. Anybody else having luck finding a reasonable replacement?

As you can see in the above update the generous rains have done nothing to stop the decrease in snowpack. I am not a fan of "run-off" in February which is normally a sign of a dangerously hot summer...

Interesting read into a topic not on many people's radar. Serious depletion of groundwater has been going on for over 80 years without enough recharging of aquifers, Many problems arise including "cancer"...
This is a much anticipated post that I look for each year. Being a brown trout addict and especially a very large brown trout addict, this post rates close to the top of all posts IMHO. Where are you, TLJ?
The "New Normals" keep coming! Hurricane Otis made landfall overnight near Acapulco, Mexico, as a Category 5 hurricane with 165-mph winds. The storm rapidly grew from a tropical storm in the morning to Category 5 by evening, the fastest strengthening on record in the northeast Pacific.2
The wildfires we had this past summer sent some of our reptile friends into wet orchards just outside the city limits "and beyond". Was chatting with a coaching colleague who parks his "Locked Up" truck in the High School, student parking lot. Not giving it much thought he opened the door and...

Have been thinking about installing three zones of mini-slit AC/Heating to replace inefficient wall heaters and window AC units. Just received an instillation quote of $20,000 which seems higher than researched averages. The expensive instillation cost plus keeping the juice running 24/7 are...
The hills jus outside and west of Oroville are billowing smoke and flames as the phone just alerted all of Level 1 alert. I guess it was just a matter of time with much more to come.
We are about to upgrade are present electrical paneling. That said, we will include an EV plug in. I would really like to hear from folks who have done this on the do's and dont's and any other sage advice you would be willing to share.
Well, about 4 days relief from "hell heat" and the promise of rain up to 90%! A very few sprinkles from time to time but that was about it! Did anyone else on the dry side get enough to water the yard?
With Alberta on Fire, NZ fishing reports sounding dismal, and NCW becoming the latest on the Bass Competition circuit, we are trying to find a cooler spot to fish on our retirement, bucket, list. Has anyone fished Greenland or know of anyone who has experienced this awesome area of the world?
