    Garmin Striker Questions

Completed the mounting system this afternoon. A Scotty glue on pad, the 241 attachment, a Scotty 368 universal sonar mount, then the lower plate on the Garmin Striker 4 on my Water Otter pontoon boat. The Scotty parts are likely compatible with the Lowrance or Hummingbird units. The holes...

    2-Piece Rods

A friend of mine prefers 2 piece rods because he thinks they’re more durable. He’s probably right because the 90’s technology rods are heavier because the walls are thicker. A 9 1/2 foot two piece is tough to fit in a Toyota Tacoma.

    Garmin Striker Questions

Used the conical mount from my defunct Fishing Buddy II and a piece of foam pipe insulation to fill the hole. A foot long section of 1/2” aluminum hang glider tubing fit firmly inside the foam and adjusts up and down. A glue on Scotty pad and removable mount attach to the conical mount.

Are there any videos or written instructions on how to attach the Garmin 4 to the mounting plate?

    UV fluorescent materials

I ran a uv light on some of the flies I’ve tied recently and found more uv materials than I expected. Beads, thread, and as you mentioned, the fnf. Don’t know if it makes any difference or not, but this pink thread lights up underneath the squirmy worm body.

Yes that’s what worked best for me.

    fishing rabbit strip flies

Depends on your bunny fly. If you’re using the old style MOAL pattern with the rabbit skin wrapped around a Dacron line, it will soak up a lot of water and become difficult to cast. A thin rabbit strip with a Maribou collar is much easier. A small cone head comes out of the water easier than...

I suspect that they’re taking it for a tiny scud, but who knows.

    What's in your vise?

Got this pattern from a guide from Boise at a popular central Washington spring creek last year in April. It caught a few large rainbows so I tied some up this morning. Kudos to Finluver for telling me how to wrap ice dub. I can’t see any detail until I take a photo and blow it up. hook...
