A friend of mine prefers 2 piece rods because he thinks they’re more durable. He’s probably right because the 90’s technology rods are heavier because the walls are thicker. A 9 1/2 foot two piece is tough to fit in a Toyota Tacoma.
Used the conical mount from my defunct Fishing Buddy II and a piece of foam pipe insulation to fill the hole. A foot long section of 1/2” aluminum hang glider tubing fit firmly inside the foam and adjusts up and down. A glue on Scotty pad and removable mount attach to the conical mount.
I ran a uv light on some of the flies I’ve tied recently and found more uv materials than I expected. Beads, thread, and as you mentioned, the fnf. Don’t know if it makes any difference or not, but this pink thread lights up underneath the squirmy worm body.
