    If you're not fussy on aesthetics, buy a length of PVC pipe to suit in either 1 1/2" or 2" Sch 40 with 2 end caps. Glue one end cap in place and leave the other end loose. Caps fit snuggly so they won't fall off under most conditions. Makes for a solid, cheap rod tube..

    For something small and watertight, pickup a HF plastic ammo box. Seals good against water intrusion, comes with a carry handle and won't rust. Only issue is that it may be too small for some users depending on what you need to carry with you...

    +2, that's you best bet by far. looking at your kayak, it appears to have a floor so the strap on mounts may not work in your case. Glue on pads are your best solution..
