Split Ibis

Winged Wet Fly

Hook - Mustad 3399
Thread - Black
Tail - Golden pheasant tippets
Body - Flat silver tinsel
Throat/Hackle - Brown hen
Wing - White, scarlet, white, scarlet married

The Bergman recipe for the wing reads, “white, scarlet, white, scarlet, married”.
Normally in written married wing recipes, the order of components is written from the top down.

Trout - Ray Bergman

Forgotten Flies - Schmookler and Sils

Still toying around with combo ideas. This (even though you can't really tell when it's dry) is more of a game changer style. It's tied neutrally buoyant with a little bit of foam off the hook bend to really throw things off balance when stripped with a slightly faster cadence making it act more like a jerk bait in that situation. Fish it slow (or fast) without pausing and it'll have that more fish like serpentine action. The only trigger I didn't include is a rattle, which IMHO isn't necessary at all in our tiger waters.

Tied a dozen Lady Clark stoneflies for myself after tying a dozen for the local fly club raffle. It should be a good attractor pattern on smaller streams as well as the Deschutes. Lately I’ve been tying more for others than myself, including a donation of my favorite steelhead flies for the Deschutes River Alliance Annual Auction. Need to work on refilling my fly boxes for the upcoming fishing season. 537CA91C-92A0-4207-82BA-CB5782C68E5A.jpeg

That is a good fly for LL Salmon and Brown Trout. I have used it with good success all over Northern New England
