    Puget Sound

Seized their boat. Nice! Wish they would do that sort of thing more often

I like the Crash Test Dummy as well. Just seems the right size for most of my patterns. I've used the Crew Boss on some larger trolling stuff, but prefer a bit smaller. Just my preference.

Non-Fly 2023 - Dirtbag PS Salty Salmon Fishing

I've caught coho on larger plugs on the ocean when trying to avoid them to get to the chinook. They will definitely hit them but the hookup ratio has never been good for me, at least with larger plugs. If you don't like fighting coho with a flasher, then just don't fish a flasher? Really not...

    What's in your vise?

These ones are tied on 1/0 Gami B10s hooks with Wapsi "Perfect Popper" heads size 4. I'm still trying to find the best head/hook combo. I had a couple packs of the absolute perfect size heads a handful of years ago that allowed me to tie on 2/0 Ahrex Predator Stinger hooks and they would ride...

    What's in your vise?

    Coffee talk

How do you guys like to store your roasted beans? When I originally bought my roaster I also picked up a fair amount of resealable one way bags to store beans in that would allow them to off gas. They worked well enough, but the zip lock style seal has been basically ripping off them one by...

Personally I never fish plugs with a flasher

    Guided trip question

Lots of good advice here but ultimately this is a question that should be put to the guide. Every guide is going to have their own program and way of doing things. Maybe they have limited storage and have a preference for what you bring. Maybe they provide lunch, maybe not. Maybe they...

    Tuna 2024

I've watched so many videos of albacore eating troll lures from commercial boats and such that I am convinced they are never actually short striking in the sense that they are just pecking at the tail. Obviously the hook doesn't bury every time they eat something, but I very much believe that...

No disadvantage that I've seen running stingers or tubes, so definitely doesn't hurt at all, but for what it's worth I run nothing but standard hooks. I truly don't believe it matters, but like anything I believe running what you have confidence in is most important.

    Rowing Lesson Trade Proposal

Anyone who wants a fun day on the sound in a sweet ride should jump all over this. Jon knows how to fish the sound with the best of em, and I can say first hand that his Whaler is a fantastic boat to fish from.

    Panama

Good thing we don't take things too literally around these parts, or some may take issue with someone posting on the PNW fly fishing forum when they aren't in the PNW. ;)

Honestly, unless you are just hell bent on catching one on a popper and are willing to commit serious time fishing it, or just absolutely want to have one available in case they are really up and aggressive, I wouldn't spend the money on a floater. I've seen too many floaters packed onto the...
