Montana Stillwater...

I used to think fly fishing on a lake was whack.

Scooped a sweet Craigslist kicker canoe and quickly realized fly fishing on a lake is actually not whack.

Had the wife paddle me around all night while I stood up and sniped eaters at long range, sight fishing only. Very fun.

Last thing I need is a new rabbit hole but here we are...

I thought the same, until I started ff stillwaters. It has it all, dries, nymphing, streamers, and it opens up a broader array of species, too.

Fall fishing in Montana is great. All the locals and tourists have gone hunting, leaving you the water for yourself...and the Browns are getting feisty.

How stable is the wenonah? I just picked one up for my Dad but not sure if he's gonna use it...

I grew up in canoes, and the Fisherman model I've got (pictured) is the most stable one I've ever used.

Both my wife and I stand up while fishing/casting/landing fish no problem.

The caveat is that the boat is not as fast as a longer, narrower tripping style canoe...but for hunting and fishing there is no equal
