SFR Handy gadgets, tools, or other things you never want to be without

Sorta fishing-related
The Megapro ratchetting screw driver lives in our "everything drawer" in the kitchen and is surprisingly useful. The bits are quite nice and it saves me from going outside to get a specific driver for whatever I'm working on.

Also I'd agree with Evan earlier. Having a jumper pack is quite useful.

I don't have one of these, but I do have something similar, a Yankee Drill - it's so much easier to grab for a quick and easy hole. Bits are stored the same way your ratcheting screwdriver is.

Pocket knife all day. I get annoyed if I don't have one with me. I end up using it all the time.

I am far more into the "value" knives than the high end ones, though. Currently carrying a $50 Civivi Elementum. But I'm also a big fan of the USA made (but sadly discontinued) Kershaw Skyline. And I carry a $25 Benchmade 535 "Bugout" knockoff as something lightweight if I'm wearing shorts.

Civivi makes a great knife for the money. I have a small handful of their knives in my collection and every time I pick one up I'm always amazed at the quality vs what I paid for it.

+1 to @Salmo_g I have the mini Swiss Army on my keychain and use it far too often (scissors are heaven). And my Hobart gauge thickness tester, use it a fair bit too.

But I got a few of these for stocking stuffers and random gifts this year, I think one will find its way into my everyday Levis carry.

Civivi (and Kershaw) are a great bargain in knives, picked up the wood handle one recently.
Routinely put all knives on a Worksharp belt sharpner, and than warn my gal to be pls careful with the kitchen knives.
For incredibly sharp and robust cheap sheath knives, hard to beat Morakniv stainless knives, keep one in our vehicles, go bags, one secured next to skiff anchor rope.

Moras are great. I always have a couple around on my Westport boat. Such a tough knife and they just never seem to rust up.

Also love the Worksharp! Though I've always used it for fillet knives, haven't tried it on any of my pocket knives yet. I've been using a Work Sharp Precision Adjust system for my pocket knives. I feel better using it on some of my more expensive blades, but I'm honestly not super great at hand sharpening and love the simplicity of the Work Sharp.

A good wader storage/drying/cleaning system is pretty important. I put my boots and waders in a big plastic box. That keeps my car clean. When I get home, I hang the waders above the box, on an IKEA clothes rack in the garage. The rack has wheels, so I can roll it out into the driveway and spray my waders when needed.

For general life stuff, the best tool I have ever purchased is an electric screwdriver. It's much smaller than a drill and can handle most of my drilling/driving needs. It can handle drilling pilot holes and driving screws up to about #10 2in. You have to get one with a clutch and multiple speeds though. Many don't and they're nowhere near as useful.

I have a tonne of third party bits; drill, hole saw, Philips, flat, metric hex, imperial hex, etc. I also got some angle adapters, which are awesome and have helped me avoid having to drive stuff by hand almost all of the time.

funny, I just ordered one of those Ken Onion sharpeners earlier today :D

I have become pretty reliant on OnX. It‘s hard for me to imagine not having it. As a result, my phone battery drains fairly fast even on airplane mode so I also have a hard time living without a portable charger.

In the under a buck category I nominate this bag. Hard to beat from a cost to usefulness ratio. Great for transporting fishing gear. I keep many specialized bags loaded up for fast getaways. Salmon trolling, fly fishing, bass, salt, etc.

Oh man, I forgot about those things! I used to use them alllllllll the time. Used to be my wader bag among many other things.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Don't want everyone learning about that :p

The Ken Onion angle attachment, which replaces the one WorkSharp comes with, really makes it easier to nail down the various grind angles depending on knife use.
Feel like an old Italian knife grinder when the kitchen table is lined up with pocket knives, kitchen knives, scissors, Worksharp whirring away

After further I have come to the conclusion that in addition to fishing rods I may also be able to skillfully use a clapper, this is theoretical of course but I am confident :)

Energizer headlamps. As solid as any other brand out there including the pricey ones, and cheap enough I bought several and have them stashed in the truck, my desk, by the front door, my dry box.
This!!
My choice as well.
The more I ferment, the less my peepers work well in shaded and low light areas😁

Put your name on there or spray paint it up. I have had so many of these “walk away” over the years.

Also, don’t hate on the trout enlarger posted by Russell because whatever it takes to get your confidence up while fishing is important.
