Not to be "chicken little" BUT... it's not surprising to me that were/your not hearing about this pre-mid-term. So I am just putting this up as knowledge and forewarned.

Predominantly everything we as Americans use or consume is transported via semitruck. (and many of us rural people use it to produce our/your food) The upper Northeast is already limiting usage/consumption.

BSA - Be Prepared

Heard about this today…

This is a dire situation.

Doesn’t look good and the current administration is not lifting a hand to correct.

But hey…the Pelosi’s got news coverage today.

We shouldn't look for administrations to do anything about this. The champions of free market capitalism should be happy to just let the free market work this out, Econ 101, supply & demand, and all the virtues of the free market and all. If the proletariat suffer, isn't that a reasonable price for capitalism to succeed?

Lol...

Humans are far from able to survive without a community of players.

Dependence is a dbl edge sword.

I don't see this as a failure of free market systems. I am further seeing dependence on foreign sources and a limited pool of competition as an issue. Attached is an article that keeps it simple, non political, and straightforward.

Regardless of party affiliation we should all agree that in the short to mid term as we move towards an electric future America should tell OPEC producers to go to hell and become independent of middle east oil by using our own.. drilled, refined and used by Americans until we can be free of fossil fuels.

Well, when a certain party gained legislative control in 2015, one of the first acts was to lift the US export ban.

A lot of folks from that same party ran on the platform of energy independence.

Maybe putting the ban back in effect would be a good place to start.

Since gasoline and diesel come from the same barrel, why are people not concerned with the forthcoming shortage of gasoline?

I am. On the other hand I and most likely you can moderate our usage without running out of food or supplies. If the trucks and trains don't deliver the goods, there will be shortages, inflation, hoarding, etc.

Might be because in part, october gasoline tank stocks are at 200%+ of diesel stocks. And at ~45% yield (gasoline) vs ~28% yield (diesel) per gallon of crude, the demand might be easier to meet in a timely fashion.

Then again, it might not.

The biggest takeaway I have gotten in doing more reading and taking with those that use diesel for all of us is, nobody delivers anything in bulk with gasoline powered vehicles, including gasoline. (Not to mention food, household necessities, hospital /nursing home supplies, pretty much everything)

Again, I was just sharing what doesn't seem to be being shared national/locally.

Always be prepared

(PS. Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming, plan your shopping accordingly)
