You could feel the rumble of massive boulders moving in the water below Quake Lake right before the road washed out.
I would not wait, by then it may be to late. These things can go south in a hurry.

Pretty crazy video. Early in the video, you see damaged road that's basically almost now dry and off channel, so at least one big move in the main channel has already occurred. Seems like some of those undercut hillsides are likely going to slump down too (would be dangerous downstream if a temporary dam happens). That bridge is also getting scoured hard, its future seems uncertain.
Good candidate for build back better effort.

I took a 16' raft with a homemade frame through House Rock solo once...check, had my malamute. Flows were half, so I challenged myself and went through backwards.
