What are you listening to?

Stride piano style! It has a fuller sound that can mimic an entire rhythm section. Good singer too!

I played with a Stride player in church for about 10 years. The other musicians were kinda just along for the ride.
honestly, I really don't care for piano music in general, but I couldn't stop that video...good stuff!

I have a huge amount of music in my old work Playlist on my cell. I don't listen to it often since retiring. Usually listen to my random music i follow in my Turtlebox when I'm outside trying to work. Today I turned on my work Playlist. And a music i haven't heard in years. In fact it rarely played while working on the job. Last two days I've been playing them. One of my favorites in school. I've always listened to them. But forgot how much I really loved them since my stroke. But this is the song that hit me, in a good way.

I like stride, and it's damn difficult to play.
This guy does videos of the keyboards, I find them illuminating.

Fats Waller

Art Tatum

and Oscar Peterson

"the right hand is really the instrument and the left is putting the rhythm section out of work"

lol....that's crazy talent (quite the opposite that I posted earlier, even though I think he's funny as shit).

I first saw these guys back in 2000. This song always made me smile and laugh (mostly at the absurdity of it), but isn't that what music is supposed to do?

They're kinda a combo of rap, punk, nu metal, & something else....

🍻

I posted some videos of these amazing young artists during the Christmas Season a couple of years ago. This YT Channel and related channels from his fellow musicians feature excellent unaltered live performances.
