I believe pre-registration is closed for all classes but check at the door for "day of" opportunities.
This year, we allow you to participate in the FREE Fly-Casting Skills Development Program,
where you can develop your casting skills at three different levels and earn bronze, silver, and gold
awards through the FFI. No need to bring your own rod, we will have all the equipment you need.
RWCC will provide raffle tickets to those who are successful at each level, with a chance to win
free Fly-Fishing equipment each day of the Expo.
In addition to FCSD, we will have a Walk-In Casting Doctor area where you can pay $5.00 for a
15-minute one-on-one with an instructor from the RWCC and work on casts that you would like
to improve upon.

I'll be at the swap & shop and am a casting instructor! I've been teaching for a very long time and have taught thousands of people! I worked at Orvis in Bellevue for 6 years and helped teach their classes for about 10 years, even before i worked for them!

Sadly, I'm not going to make it. I had something come up tomorrow afternoon. I'm tempted to drive down for Saturday, but it's a long way for one day of the event and I need to focus on a few other things. Plus there's really not much open to fish down there. I may head out and fish on Saturday afternoon / Sunday.. or more likely next week! Looking forward to seeing what people are tying! Next year for sure!
I need to tie some of those up. Do you have a recipe or just certain materials you prefer for the bodies. I'm sure i have plenty of options to use!gathering a few to bring with....many of these have multiple fish on them so they've got some good mojo!

mostly bucktail (good bucktail), schlappen for the tail (really tough to find aesthetically pleasing schlappen in most fly shops), dubbed head. give or take....but bucktail plays a huge role in everything. Those ones above span 2-3 years of slight variation in construction, although they all still swim as intended, just different means to the same end.
I'll try to remember to do another SBS at some point as how I'm doing things has changed a little bit since I did my last one a couple of years ago.
I'll check out the SBS, don't really need to but love the proportions and overall look! Definitely the style that I like to fish and I'm sure it swims really well! I need more streamers, as it's one of my favorite ways to fish from a boat. Or swing it on my many spey rods. I might use tubes for them! Many things come to mind and I'm sure yiuu can play with it a lot! Thanls!!

I should also add that if I really want it to push water, I'll add bulk with the backside of bucktail base (it's really hollow, so flares VERY well & is light) with a couple small clumps just underneath the dubbed head.
