NFR Superb Owl 2026: Seahawks vs Patriots (official thread)

Non-fishing related
Brings back memories of a map of the US from the East Coast perspective:

Anything west of the Mississippi is the wild, wild west filled with cowboys and indians...
In the mid-80s, I told the folks in Jersey, that β€œwe even has β€˜lectrity, runnin’ water, and many have toilets in the house now.” 😳

Many West coast sports fans also think Pittsburgh is on the east coast which may add to the issue.
This is a quality burn, though I'd wager it applies to most of the country outside the Northeast and Midwest regions, not just the West Coast.

On the other hand, if the NFL really cared about that kind of thing, the Dallas Cowboys wouldn't be in the NFC East.

Population density and time zone...

That is Canada (Windsor, Ontario) to the south by the way... Detroit is about 500 miles from the Atlantic (east coast)...

Cheers

I don't have a problem with announcers having a bias. Which reminds me, isn't Steve Raible retiring now? If so, what a send off!
You can really notice the bias when you choose which broadcast to watch of Mariners games.

This is how it shakes out...
Media coverage is mostly eastern time zone...because there's more teams there.

Mossback's Razor...the simplest explanation etc.
😁🀣😁

Seems like a whole lot of negativity coming from a fan base who just won the Superbowl, and convincingly....must be the rain.

I'm having a great day :D
Yup...a fine day, and a great season for the Seahawks.

Seems the other (lesser) teams fans are reaching here...
They could go on IR if they're not careful, could get hurt reaching so hard.

Didn't really notice a ton of bias during the game with the announcers. Surprised they didn't dwell too long on that missed personal foul that wasn't called on Sea. First the waaaaay late hit out of bounds then the punch thrown. It most likely wouldn't have made a lick of difference in the outcome, but hey, probably ok to miss it since it's your favorite team.

That was a well earned win by the SeaChickens. Their team speed just looks different...
I can't believe the refs didn't call that late hit. I don't mind them "letting them play", but that was SO late you gotta call that. The fight after too. The ref literally almost got punched. Haha!
And even though no penalty, it ended up benefitting the Pats. And the fan running onto the field while they were still trying to get things back to normal. The Hawks lost focus because of the dust up and gave up the TD. Only took 57 seconds to score 7 points. It was the only time the D lost focus. Reminded me of the previous game when Riq was stupid and stepped on their sideline and then gave up the TD. Of course, he gave up this one too.

Jobe is looking at a $40-50K fine for the dumb move.

I enjoyed watching the game. Professional players playing at a professional level without a lot of ref's interfering. Yeah, a couple of missed calls (or more), but the game played on: as it should of.

I prefer to not read all the Monday morning 'should of, would of, missed it, stuff. That is all history, can't change history. Seahawks won far in square. Remember this game for what it was/is: Seattle won SB 60!
