So while I agree with your sentiment, the NCAA is ultimately responsible for the format and for allowing CFP and ESPN (Disney) to take over. Not surprised. They can't even figure out if a guy that signs an NBA contract can come back to college or not.

Yes, it’s true the NCAA blessed setting up CFP Administration LLC, which is owned by the conferences and ND.
None of the people mentioned though that are making the decisions are direct NCAA employees, which was the point I was trying to make. The NCAA is worthless at this point, just waiting to get sued again…and lose. 😂
Is anyone else enjoying watching any playoff games today on non Disney channels?😉

The NCAA is impotent, and totally beholden to Disney/Espn/ advertisers and perhaps some other network execs.

Saban got out at just the right time. For NIL, Alabama has no big donors like some of the other big programs do. They'll never be what they were until that happens. (or more guardrails are put in place for the NIL stuff).
 
I'm fine with Alabama sucking for the next decade or two.
