Favorite fish/story/trip of 2024?

Lots of memorable fish this year. Some solid coho. A couple more decent chinook off the beach, my first really solid west side largemouth, some really good smallmouth and lots of src. Most memorable was probably this guy though. Likely the heaviest bow I’ve ever caught. Chunky AK fish.

First of the trip
Special fish, she was so pretty. Silver with blue and pink markings, iridescent gill plate
But we are here for lake trout

2024 was fun fishing but it went by much too fast! The next fishing trip is always my favorite, be it local or far from home base. This year I was fortunate to catch 11 new to me gamefish species with many others I hope to feed a fly in 2025. Some 2024 catches that were the most challenging, unique, and/or rewarding:
Africanus Permit (awesome sight fishing and these fish never get tired)
Blue Tigerfish (my only freshwater outing of 2024)
Giant Trevally (the best fight on the flats)
Yellowmargin Triggerfish (goofy, technical, great fight, big as a pumpkin)
Wild Coho from MA-9 (landing a big migratory coho from a Puget Sound beach is the toughest challenge)
Bluefin Trevally (big bluefin fight like hell and those colors)
Bonefish - Providence (the sight of a big bone tailing on a well cast fly is the best)
Bonefish - CXI (bonefishing at Paris is heaven, even if the moon isn't full)
Black Saddled Coral Grouper (finally landed one of these after coming so close last year)
Picasso Triggerfish (just watching these swim around doing their thing is amazing)

I liked the one where I caught my biggest carp.
Or when I took my boat on its first halibut trip.
Or the tuna trip where we legitimately wanted the fish to stop biting so we could have a break and enjoy our time out on the ocean a bit more
Or when @Omykiss went on his first tuna trip with me and we saw a bunch of whales and dolphins and also caught a yellowtail out of a giant school of them. (actually only catching one was a bit of a failure)

If I get invited back out (I at least didn’t fuck anything up or get in the way of hot fishing). I’ll definitely be getting a scopalmine (sp?) patch.
