Pizza oven thread

Chipping away!! Finally got the last layer of stucco on and then painted it today with some sealing / waterproofing masonry paint.

Next on the agenda is stucco on the sides of the base walls, and completing the red brick counter all the way to the back.

But first, I need to make my inaugural attempt at Sicilian / Detroit style pizza next Monday 🥳

What time Monday?

Parbaking crusts for Sicilian style pizzas to enjoy with Monday night football. After a two hour rest, they'll be topped and finished in the oven for a second round of fire.

Going to make a second attempt at the sicilian style this coming Monday. I'm on a mission to get the crust edges right. I didn't have the right mozzarella to stack on the edges and get those cheesy crisps along the sides, so coming better prepared. Otherwise, super happy with how the crusts and rest of the pizzas came out. Just need to dial in those sides.

This is what i use and am perfectly happy with it. Maybe I'll make my inaugural fall detroit pies next week.

You'll like this then...

Easy to make fresh mozzarella.
Next, cure your own charcuterie.
:)

I dunno, it just feels like using pre-ground coffee to me. My snobbish nature has an aversion to convenience.
You do you! In my experience, it tastes no different--snob or not. Especially when the you're really supposed to use "brick cheese" And trust me, Im VERY particular about pizza ingredients.

I actually just made paneer yesterday
Like that stuff grilled...or tossed into some curry.
Samosas for lunch today, nice change of pace for me.
