Could this have been planned and manipulated like other recent goings on in the world?

Some just keep getting richer, while the others keep going backwards.

Didn't you know, everything is a conspiracy to enrich the already rich and powerful, in this case, create a war to make stocks plunge so you can then buy low and make an even bigger fortune - it's right there for all to see;).

,thousands of people being killed so somebody can make a profit. The worlds full of money grubbing assholes with no conscience. Fucking great!

If they can't see the forest thru the trees, they may never move forward.

People mock stock markets and taking a gamble on investments while collecting 1.5- 2% on their savings accounts.
You may wonder why people work late into their 60's and 70,s or til death. NO plans for the future and no attempt at taking a chance in life, just going thru the motions waiting to expire.
This isn't a dress rehearsal and the clock is running.

No clue. My wife has worked in the investment market for about 30 yrs. She handles all that mumbo jumbo mess.
I supply the grocery and gas money.

You only need to look at our own Defense Industrial Base , which has operated on that principal since Revolutionary times. It got worse under Macnamara during his tenure and hasnt slowed down since.

I reject your reality & substitute my own , don’t worry everything’s going to alright. Well right up until it isn’t & at that time I may start to worry but not beforehand.
 
We're now in Cold War 2 between Russia and the US, with a shooting war between Russia and Eastern Europe, and anyone planning on a quick rebound of the Russian market is smoking skunk weed.
The sanctions that have been put in place are cratering their economy so badly the Russian stock market is locked down for the sole reason to prevent a massive sell off.
What had been a massive infusion of investment capitol from the west is evaportaing by the minute as the 'we're outta here' pullout accelerates of companies such as Ford, General Motors, Boeing, BP, Exxon..the list goes on and on.
Does anyone really think if and when the Ukraine mess is over with, which may take years, thse companies will decide to jump back into an economy run by Putin if they see no fundamental changes to protect those investments?
Or that there is an immediate 'off' switch to the sanctions if Russia did pull out of the Ukraine?
When Putin had tanks drive into Ukraine, Putin concurrently drove Russia's economy over a cliff.

Regarding stocks. We've witnessed the most abberative run-up in the stock market in history, where the fundamental of PE ratios so treasured by Warren Buffet have little meaning anymore, as personal investors hve not been trading for returns, they have been betting on price per share jumps.
Recall 2008, when the stock market fell 49%, wiping out the savings of folks just about to retire, a time when one year money market deposits had 7% yields. There is a reason why investing fundamentals is based on personal time windows, more aggressive when younger, more conservative when older.
Thing about history, it has a way of repeating itself at some point.
 
Putin doesn't exactly look like a genius, and doesn't appear very savvy here 10 days in.

Tank your entire economy in 5 days, collapse your currency, and with the exception of a handful of shithole countries, have the whole world shut you out of international commerce.

He might even outright lose a ground war, or be unable to sustain an occupation successfully.
