Deer hair was supposed to come out brown but I got more of a rusty olive. A longer bath might have darkened it but I cooked the tips as it was; I’ll try less water, a slightly lower temperature and longer bath next time.

Soundtrack:

Edits: rethinking a jokey homage to my all-time favorite Blazer; maybe not the right moment. Also, fly name already taken, damnit.

More edit: 6 doz for my wildest nephew’s upcoming expedition of discovery to Duck Valley. All redheads.

Do a little dance,
Make a little love,
Get down tonight.

Even though I saw a pack of black Squimpish fiber and a pack of black Nayat, I resisted the urge. Went with feathers for the ass end. Buuuut, I got a small pack of this new type of dubbing from NightmareMuskyFlies that's quite a bit courser than their Titan dub and nearly as long. I ended up mixing it with a little bit of Titan and hope to give it the swim test this weekend...a little 8"er
