Orange Slush Defense...
Not sure what the deal is with the donkeys, but they have gone downhill for quite some time now. The defense was decent a few years ago, but the second half of last year through the present it is a mess.
Guess it is full rebuild time, which means having available cap space to sign folks, so Wilson is going to be out within 2 years in all likelihood.
No sense in paying that kind of money to a QB and be that bad.

I’m sure Rob Walton is not happy with his ponies, luckily he has all the money needed to incentivize new players. Plus Denver is pretty solid. Hopefully they pull the Vance plug here soon and start there.

I honestly think the Broncos would beat the Patriots.
I think they would too. The Patsies offense is truly bad. No speed or seperation by any reciever. The line can't run block, so no run game. Line can't pass block so along with no speed/ seperation they can't throw.
QB is jumpy at this point. He is like an elk who thinks something is amiss. He's rattled and hyper aware of the rush.
The defense has sufferred a lot of injuries. It still is not to bad considering the offensive issues. Special teams struggle snapping the football. That is not good.
There seems to only be one direction that the team can go given how bad it's been. I guess that is a positive?

Lions are looking good, Geoff playing much better QB than when in LA
Speed of the Fins' is hella fun to watch, Hill just a flat out burner, Tua stays healthy they be in there
Hurd impresses as the most self-improved QB maybe ever, easily the chillest dude in the league
Niners stay healthy, they can beat
Miami ? They haven’t beat a decent team yet this year , got destroyed by the Bills . We will see what kind of team they are in a couple weeks when they play the Eagles .

How the Lions started playing last year , and now this year they are the real deal . Niners will be tough , will see when they meet the Eagles , nothing could be any better than seeing them beat those Eagles .

Seeing numerous articles about Peyton dissing Hacket and now experiencing fairly instant karma leading another sucky start for the ponies. That seems to have come into sharp relief after the Jets win yesterday. Peyton might not be the guy to take Denver back into post-season contention, but he doesn't seem to be intimidated by RW incorporated. I don't think I ever saw Pete Carrol or Hacket yell at him on the sidelines like Sean did yesterday after the stip-sack. That might be key to getting RW back to just being a damn fine quarterback and HOF candidate in this league.
I don't have a dog (or pony) in this race per say, just an outsider and ex RW fan-boy's 2cents.

no matter how much money an owner has, the salary cap keeps teams on equal footing for paying players.

For sure, that’s why I said incentivize aka 20 star chefs, red light/cryo wonders, dressing rooms with personal masseuse, top class training/body coaches, other facility improvements etc. The works of luxury drip.

Not to mention he can differ ridiculous bonuses out for multiple players and guarantee money into escrow other owners cannot. Not all owners are that liquid to do so with a multitude of contracts.

He can pull many levers and roll dice to get things going.

Raiders just got lucky. They actually scored a TD.

I think there was the same discussion with Payton/Breeze that there was with Belichek/Brady…perhaps the greatness of the qb’s was more important than the coach…

Players always matter, especially Quarterbacks. It is not a player or coach scenario. Brady's Patriots always had a top 10 defense when the won the super bowl. This is a simple chart showing the SB winners and loser O and D ranks. In the case of Brady's NE teams, it only misses 2019 when they had the best defense in the NFL in yds per game and points and held the rams to 3 in the superbowl.

The whole argument is silly in that the offense, defense and special teams all work together for truly great teams and Peyton and BB are not the only coaches on the team. BB has suffered recently from not having assistant coaches that were up to the standards set by prior coaches. Much of that is his own doing since he refuses to hire outside his circle and has failed recently to get competent OL coaching from coaches that he has trained. Lack of good assistant coaching has led to last years offensive and special teams debacle and this years awful line play. Losing OL coach Dante Scharnecchia has been the biggest blow to the Patriots coaching staff. He left twice. Both times the line play has gone from excellent to awful quickly.

Assistant coaches matter. Consider that Bill Parcells has never won a super bowl without Belichik as the DC. Belichik has only won one as HC without Scarnecchia as OL coach and by the 2nd yr (2015) without Scar the line was awful even with Brady in his prime and getting rid of the ball as quick as he was able to. Two years removed from Scar's latest retirement and the Patriots have the worst OL in football.

I don't know much about Peyton, except that he won a SB with a fairly poor defense and that he is a mini Parcells. He certainly has never won at the clip of BB though.
