Rain

A not friendly weather week ahead...
Watering will be a good thing to do in the morning, hiding from the sun in the afternoon is another good thing to do.
Erf...

Funny how a nice sunny day in August used to be enjoyed in western Washington, not feared. The rainy season is not too far away.
Anyway, very glad I won't be in the Willamette Valley this week, temps over 100 suck.

Eastern Washington is a great place to visit.
Enjoy the snowy cold winters and the hot dry summers.
Then head home to decent temps on the west side.

We are there… 🥵

This week:

Wednesday is not marked as Heat Warning and should be... It is not over until it is over.

90 here...
So retreating inside where it...
Isn't 90.
😅

I like it hot. I'll bitch when we get eight hours of daylight and weeks of gray and drizzle, which is coming soon enough.

It's not all bad. I played in the garden and harvested some Cayenne peppers to hang and dry.

I plan on making Cajun/blackening seasoning with them once they dry enough to grind. I figure 3-4 days of 90 degree plus days will give them a good start. I'll probably bring them inside afterwards to finish drying. They sure look evil.

BTW, I used Maxima 8lb Ultragreen to hang them, so I guess this is SFR, but could have gone in the What Are You Eating" thread.

Not rain…..😡
Not as bad for us westsiders as south and east, but it will still still suck.
Hopefully this is the last big heatwave of the summer.

Brian - I think once before somewhere back in this thread you said "hopefully this is the last big heatwaveof the summer": JINX! Kind of like getting to the lake and saying (outloud), "hey, it's not windy". ;-)

A week ago Monday at a 7000 ft lake in NE Oregon it rained 1.5 inches along with some hail and a lot of thunder and lightening. Monday and Tuesday the high temperatures were in the 50s. Glad I had the trailer and tarp. The weather greatly improved the rest of the week but it never got above 70. Going to be much hotter this week at home in the Tri Cities.

79° inside my place last evening even with keeping things closed up.
Sticky and clammy while tying flies last night. Mid week will be worse.
No need to go to the office but I’m heading there anyway to take advantage of the AC.
Next Monday looks promising…. 😉

Brian -
I don't know if your home doesn't have any A/C or not ..... our house here in Ephrata had one window mounted 5,000 BTU unit when we bought the place and it was in the dining room. Pooled sweat cooled me at night........ we added onto our house years ago and now have a Rheem furnace/heat pump for the main house which keeps us cool. We decidided to add a ductless unit for the upstairs family room (Mitsubishi "Mr. Slim") to eliminate a lot of added ductwork. This little ductless unit does a great job of cooling off the upstairs. Not super expensive, 1/5th the cost of the main unit. And it has worked flawlessly since installed.

Not great out here already...
😅
Had a solid 94 yesterday, heading for more than that today it looks like.
Erf...
Almost time to hide from the sun, hope to make it till noon, but not sure...86 already and I like to quit at 90.
🤣🤣🤣

95 now
Going to go hide in the dark
🤣
Not sure why anybody likes temps in upper 90's and 100's, but for those that do, here's your time of the year.
Congrats....???
🤣🤣🤣

Any westsiders smelling smoke where you are at?
Smelling smoky here in Kirkland. Hopefully it subsides so we can open things up to air out tonight.
